About The Author
Sean Greeley
A native of Springfield, MA, Sean Greeley’s journey into the world of
health and fitness began as a Junior Olympic Track and Field athlete.
From there he quickly excelled into Professional Wakeboarding,
competing internationally as a member of the USA Wakeboard team
for three years and serving on the USA Wakeboard Board of Directors
as Vice President.
Not long after getting his feet wet (literally) in professional athletics,
this graduate of Rollins College decided to jump head-first into building
a career in the fitness industry. In 2001, Sean became certified as a
personal trainer by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and began
training and coaching individuals on the benefits of exercise and a
healthy lifestyle.
In 2003, Sean was given a wake-up call when he was diagnosed with
stage IV cancer. However, being a fighter and winner, Sean beat his disease and quickly found himself back in the fitness arena, this time armed with even more enthusiasm and motivation.
Sean’s next project involved founding a personal training company in 2004, aptly named Wake Up Training, which quickly grew to include a staff of 7 trainers and two locations in Orlando and Clermont. Through this amazingly successful company, now based out of Winter Park, Florida, Sean has personally coached over one thousand clients and even several professional athletes.
Training and educating eventually led to writing. Sean co-authored Wake Up, Shape Up in 2003 and Wake Up…Live the Life you Love (#1 on BarnesandNoble.com) in 2004. Both are motivational and inspirational books modeled after the Chicken Soup for the Soul series with real life, up-lifting stories from top names in the health and fitness industry such as Maria Shriver (wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger), Carla and Lou Ferrigno, John Travolta and many others.
With his fitness expertise, as well as warm, friendly, and approachable character, Sean has become a captivating and much sought after speaker on the topics of nutrition and health. He has contributed articles regularly to E-fitness and other health related sites; his health and fitness writings have also found homes in two national magazines and several local publications. Additionally, Sean has been featured on Central Florida News Channel 13 as a health and fitness expert and is a contributing fitness editor for Waterski and Wakeboarding Magazine.
In 2005, Sean was recognized by the American Council on Exercise as one of the top 10 personal trainers in the country. He is now focused on expanding his company while also undertaking an enormous amount of traveling, speaking, writing, and consulting.
Recently, Wake Up Training has evolved into a coaching and consulting service that regularly conducts health and fitness workshops and group coaching programs. While one-on-one private training is still available (Sean's schedule a waiting list permitting), Sean finds that he is able to reach a greater number of people through his speaking engagements, consulting programs, workshops, and seminars.
Sean currently lives in Orlando, Florida with his wife, Christina, and enjoys surfing, snow-skiing and traveling in his off-time.
